Selections from the personal papers and photographic collection of Otto Brendel, professor of art history and archaeology at Columbia University. Included are correspondence with Nikolaus Pevsner concerning the book Etruscan Art; correspondence relating to Brendel's positions at Washington University and the Warburg; notes and transcripts of unpublished lectures; manuscripts and typescripts of publications with numerous marginalia; some course notes and syllabi; and ca. 900 photographs primarily of Etruscan art and architecture.

German-born art and architectural historian, editor and professor, Nikolaus Pevsner was a scholar of European architecture, 19th and 20th century design, Italian Baroque painting and German sculpture. He worked with the Dresden Gallery from 1924 to 1928 and taught at Göttingen before emigrating to England in 1933.
